"Two worlds collide at a traffic light: Alongside a rickety, red Renault R4 is a giant, silver Toyota . The two cars symbolize two classes that - as in this case post-Milosevic Serbia - also exist in many other Eastern European countries in transition: The 34-year-old director Srdan Golubovic shows how these two worlds collide in his second cinematic film ´Klopka´ (´The Trap´) in a convincing and virtuoso manner.
The screenplay constellation of ´Klopka´ almost comes across like a Greek tragedy, but Golubovic has shot it like a cool film noir. He sends his hero Mladen deeper and deeper into a spiral of despair, guilt and isolation with a tranquillity that gives his film much of its impact.
And so he succeeds in staging not only a suspenseful drama, but he also gives us a devastating image of a society where the leeway for decent, upstanding people is getting smaller and smaller."

"A very bright and very dark neo-film noir from ."

"´The Trap is a grippingly confident and controlled piece with a story that suggests Ripley´s Game cross-plotted with John Q and given a rewrite by Dostoevsky on a particularly morose day."
Tim Robey, Telegraph.co.uk
"A small piece of gold ... a well-crafted drama down to the last detail."
Hans-Jörg Rother, FAZ
"´Klopka - The Trap´ is a parable. The Belgrade director Srdan Golubovic shows the thin ice that the middle class of his country lives on. A black ... psycho-thriller from cold postwar ."
