Bridges Of Love
Christina and Thomas have been a couple for a while now, yet Thomas still elegantly skirts the issue of marriage and family. To him, their jobs at a newspaper - he's editor in chief, she's a reporter - are their "children." When he sends Christina to Poland for an article on Masuria, part of the German Reich until 1945, Christina's grandmother Elsa jumps at the chance to go with her. It is Elsa's first trip back since she was forced to flee her home there as a young woman. While she revels in rediscovering the places of her youth, Christina is saddled with a photographer, Marek, who criticizes her for covering solely the tourist attractions. As the days go by, however, she yields to the unique atmosphere of this region - and to a tender romance with the seductive Marek. Elsa, meanwhile, is also pursuing a romance, but one that ended abruptly fifty years ago: she is looking for Joachim, the man she loved but didn't marry. When Thomas suddenly shows up at Christina's hotel, the young woman feels pressured to drop Marek. Thomas proposes to her and they return to Germany. There, however, she realizes that she is about to make the same mistake that Elsa made fifty years ago. Just before Christina's wedding, Elsa learns that Joachim has been located. She returns to Poland - and this time it is Christina who is happy to accompany her…

Christina et Thomas vivent ensemble depuis plusieurs années maintenant, mais Thomas continue d'éviter habilement le thème du mariage et de la famille. Leur travail pour un journal - il est rédacteur en chef, elle est reporter - et les projets qu'il y mûrissent, remplacent les enfants qu'ils pourraient avoir. Lorsque Thomas envoie Christina en Pologne pour un article sur la Mazurie - qui fit partie du Reich allemand jusqu'en 1945 - la grand-mère de Christina, Elsa, n'hésite pas une seconde et part avec sa petite-fille. Pour Elsa, c'est son premier retour au pays depuis qu'elle a dû quitter sa patrie plusieurs décennies auparavant. Tandis qu'elle s'épanouit en redécouvrant les lieux de sa jeunesse, Christina se retrouve aux prises avec un photographe, Marek, qui lui reproche de ne s'intéresser qu'aux curiosités touristiques. Christina tombe peu à peu sous le charme de cette région romantique et ... sous celui du séduisant Marek. Elsa, elle, tente de renouer avec son passé et se met à la recherche de Joachim, l'amour de sa vie, un homme qu'elle n'a pu se résoudre à épouser et qu'elle a dû brusquement quitter cinquante ans auparavant. Lorsque Thomas débarque soudain à l'hôtel, Christina s'oblige à oublier Marek. Thomas lui propose de l'épouser et ensemble, ils repartent vers l'Allemagne. Mais Christina prend conscience qu'elle est en train de faire la même erreur qu'Elsa cinquante ans auparavant. Peu avant le mariage de Christina, Elsa apprend enfin où se trouve Joachim. Elle repart en Pologne et cette fois, c'est Christina qui n'hésite pas une seconde à l'accompagner...Brücken der Liebe
Seit geraumer Zeit schon ist Christina mit Thomas zusammen, der immer wieder geschickt den Themen Ehe und Familie ausweicht. Für ihn sind die Produkte der gemeinsamen Zeitungsarbeit - er ist Chefredakteur, sie Reporterin - die Kinder ihrer Beziehung. Als er Christina zur Recherche nach Masuren schickt, das bis 1945 zu Deutschland gehört hatte, ergreift ihre Großmutter Elsa die Gelegenheit, sie zu begleiten. Als junge Frau hatte sie ihre Heimat fluchtartig verlassen müssen, und jetzt entdeckt sie begeistert die Orte ihrer Jugend wieder. Christina ärgert sich indessen über den Photographen Marek, der meint, sie beschäftige sich nur mit den Touristenattraktionen. Nach und nach jedoch erliegt sie der einzigartigen Atmosphäre der Landschaft und es kommt zu einer zarten Romanze mit dem verführerischen Marek. Elsa ist ebenfalls einer Romanze auf der Spur - jedoch einer, die vor fünfzig Jahren ihr jähes Ende fand. Sie sucht nach Joachim, den sie vor ihrer Flucht geliebt, nicht aber geheiratet hatte. Da taucht Thomas in Christinas Hotel auf und die junge Frau beendet ihre Affäre. Thomas macht ihr einen Heiratsantrag und sie kehren nach Deutschland zurück. Erst dort erkennt Christina, dass sie kurz davor ist, den Fehler, den ihre Großmutter vor fünfzig Jahren machte, zu wiederholen. Kurz vor Christinas Hochzeit erfährt Elsa, dass Joachim ausfindig gemacht wurde. Sie kehrt nach Polen zurück - und dieses Mal ist es Christina, die froh ist, sie begleiten zu können.
